Supermoon | Extreme Super Moon March 19 Expect Earthquakes, High Tides, Extreme Weather
Friday, March 11, 2011

Coming up later this month (March 19 to be exact) the moon will make its closest approach to Earth (called lunar perigee) in 18 years. A new or full moon at 90% or greater of its closest perigee to Earth has been named a "SuperMoon" by astrologer Richard Nolle. This term has been recently picked up by astronomers. An extreme "SuperMoon" is when the moon is full or new as well as at its 100% greater mean perigee (closest) distance to earth. By this definition, last month's full moon, this month's and next month's will all be extreme "SuperMoons".
Please visit Richard's website by clicking here.
I have read several "new age" forecasts that go something like this: "Extreme SuperMoon this month (March 2011) will bring strong earthquakes and storms and/or unusual climate patterns." Google the term 'extreme SuperMoon March 2011' and see for yourself what comes up. The validity of these types of forecasts can be debated ad nauseum.
There were SuperMoons in 1955, 1974, 1992 and 2005. These years had their share of extreme weather and other natural events. Is the Super Moon and these natural occurences a coincidence? Some would say yes; some would say no. I'm not here to pick sides and say I'm a believer or non-believer in subjects like this, but as a scientist I know enough to ask questions and try to find answers.
We obviously know that there are scientific laws that say the moon affects the Earth (i.e. tides). There are also less proven theories that propose that the moon affects the Earth in other ways (i.e. abnormal behavior during a full moon). Can the Super (full) Moon contribute to extreme weather and other natural phenomenon?
AccuWeather Facebook fanpage member Daniel Vogler adds, "The last extreme super moon occurred was on January 10th, 2005, right around the time of the 9.0 Indonesia earthquake. That extreme super moon was a new moon. So be forewarned. Something BIG could happen on or around this date. (+/- 3 Days is my guess)"

So what can we expect this time? Earthquakes? Volcanic eruptions? I guess we can only wait and see.

Major Earthquake, Tsunami Hit Japan

A massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake has struck off Japan's northeastern coast, triggering a 10 meter tsunami that swept away boats, homes and cars along the coastline. At least five people were reported dead but officials warn the toll is expected to rise.

Video footage showed widespread inundation as mud waves carried tons of debris over farmland in Sendai, the capital of Miyagi prefecture. Large-scale damage could be seen in various locations along the coast. In Chiba prefecture, a massive oil refinery fire has broken out.

Addressing the nation, Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan said the government would do anything it can to minimize the effects of the disaster.

The powerful quake struck Friday about 125 kilometers off the eastern coast, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The Hawaii-based Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said a tsunami warning was in effect for Russia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Indonesia. The warning has been extended across the Pacific to the U.S. state of Hawaii and includes Central and South American countries on the Pacific.
Authorities in many of the areas bracing for the tsunami have issued evacuation orders for residents in coastal areas.

The massive quake was felt in Tokyo, where it shook buildings and caused several fires. The Tokyo metro system says all train and subway traffic in the city has been stopped. Tokyo's Haneda airport has reopened its four runways to accommodate traffic from other airports, including Narita. Aftershocks have also been reported in Tokyo.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL! :))

Cinderella III: A Twist in Time
Wednesday, March 9, 2011

Cinderella III: A Twist in Time is the second direct-to-video sequel to the 1950 Walt Disney Pictures animated classic Cinderella. Canonically it is a continuation of the original Cinderella, rather than Cinderella II: Dreams Come True, though due to its unusual chronological sequencing it acknowledges the events of Cinderella II: Dreams Come True by using some of its characters. The film was released on February 6, 2007 and rated G by the MPAA. The film is directed by Frank Nissen and features the voices of Jennifer Hale and Susanne Blakeslee. For the UK release of the film, it was simply titled Cinderella: A Twist in Time, without mention of it being a sequel. It made its world television premiere on Toon Disney on December 3, 2007.

I love this movie. I swear :) Watch it !

McDonald's Takes Me In
Tuesday, October 19, 2010

It was a mighty nice burger and a mighty nice restaurant too.
I never seen no restaurant in the country before that was so nice
and has so much style. It didn't have no little wood sign in front nor
an ordinary lamp post, but these big gold arches that let everybody
know where it set. There was a big counter that was smooth on top and the surface
was kept clean and white by spraying blue water on it and swishing it around
with a little sponge; sometimes one of the girls in the fancy red cap opened
up the straw-spitter or the napkins-maker and looked it over. They had bid
machines that lighted up and went buzzing in the middle of the wall behind the counter
with a picture of this clown painted on one side by the scription ''Ronald''
and you could see the menu beside him. It was grand to see the clown smile, and
sometimes when one of these girls had been waiting on a young man standing in front
of that counter, she would hand him a placemat she must have made special with
that clown drawn on it. they wouldn't took no money for that clown.
